I would also like to optimize the game further to handle even more apples and a longer snake without slowing down. In the future, I would like to add more features to the Snake Game in Java, such as different levels or power-ups. I also improved my problem-solving skills and gained experience in optimizing program performance. While building the Snake Game in Java, I learned more about Java programming, specifically object-oriented programming and the JavaFX framework. Lastly, I am proud of the amount of programming knowledge and problem-solving skills I gained during the project. It was also rewarding to see the game come to life with sound effects, graphics, and a game over screen. I am proud of successfully building the Snake Game in Java from scratch, especially since I am relatively new to Java programming. Another challenge was optimizing the game's performance, especially when the snake grew longer and more apples appeared on the screen. It took some time to figure out the best way to detect when the snake collided with the walls or its own body. One of the biggest challenges faced while building the Snake Game in Java was implementing collision detection. Finally, I polished the game by improving the graphics and implementing a game over screen. I then added the apple spawning and scoring system. I started by creating a window to display the game and then worked on implementing the snake's movement and collision detection. To build the Snake Game in Java, I used the Java programming language and the JavaFX framework. The game keeps track of the player's score and displays it on the screen. The goal is to avoid colliding with the walls or the snake's own body while eating as many apples as possible. The Snake Game in Java is a classic arcade-style game where the player controls a snake that grows in length as it eats apples. ![]() I wanted to recreate that experience on my computer and also challenge myself to learn more about Java programming. For the Snake Game in Java project, I drew inspiration from my childhood memories of playing the classic Snake Game on my old Nokia phone.
